The Basics:

Name - Nadia

Location - Canada

Birthday - February 25

Sign - Pisces

Hair: Brown, wavy

Eyes: Brown

Background: Half Italian, part French-Canadian, part Scottish

Interests - Drawing, reading, writing, politics

Music - Mostly Alternative, bordering on emo. Also including some soft rock and the odd showtune. (See the music page)

Games - I love card games, especially Solitaire, Poker, Hearts, Euchre, President, Cheat, Sevens, and Russain Rats Crew. I also play Text Twist and Tetris, and occasionally the Sims.

Books - My all-time favourite is a tie between Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and Stephen King's It. I also like the rest of the Harry Potter series (especially 3, 5 and 6), the Confessions of Georgia Nicholson series and His Dark Materials series.

TV Shows - Friends, Reba, Family Guy, Robot Chicken, Futurama

Movies - Final Destination (1 and 3), Hide and Seek, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Wall-E, Shrek 1 and 2
The Complicated Stuff:

Political views - Liberal through and through. I'll support the Liberal party, although they make mistakes every now and then, because I strongly believe that they are the lesser of two evils. As for the little parties... Green and NDP will (hopefully) never win an election, because they just aren't well-rounded enough. Bloc... Well, I don't know why we have a party dedicated to tearing the country apart.

Religious views - I'm Catholic, but not fundamentally. I base my religious beliefs around the fact that no one knows Jesus was divine, but what we do know is this: He lived and preached messages which should be the moral values of every person. Looking at the stories of his miracles as metaphorical has made me much more faithful to Jesus - it's easier to follow someone who, for example, inspires hundreds of people to share a few pieces of bread and fish rather than magically conjuring enough for everyone.

Various Opinions:
- I'm pro-choice. I am not pro-abortion, who is? I don't think anyone should have abortions, but if they do it's none of my business nor the business of the government (I can't believe they've even considered making this illegal). Nothing is black and white and there may be many cases where it really is the best option.
- I think that the idea of gay marriage being illegal is the most uncivilized and primitive law anyone has ever bothered to make. There isn't a single reason why homosexuals shouldn't be allowed to be married. There just isn't.
- People shouldn't swear excessively. Saying it on impulse is one thing, but if every sentence a person says is vulgar, it's impossible to take them seriously.
- Anyone who hunts an animal down in a helicopter deserves to be hunted down by someone in a helicopter.
- Personally, I value the lives and wellbeing of animals more than that of those who abuse them. It's disturbing. Humans need to realize that we're really not that great.
- Anyone who mocks environmentalists needs a massive reality check. We only have one earth.
